Front & Side Load
We offer commercial and agricultural service throughout Jefferson County, and parts of Lewis County, including all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Pick-ups that fall on those days will occur the following business day. Weekly, bi-weekly, monthly and on-call services are available. Call (315) 232-2162 for more information.
Residential
Weekly and bi-weekly service is available to southern Jefferson County. All trash must be bagged and customers are allowed (2) 33-gallon bags of trash per pickup. Any bags larger than that will not be accepted. Recyclables must be washed, separated and placed in bags or totes. We pick up on all holidays except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Pick-ups that fall on those days will occur the following business day. We give you the option of monthly, quarterly or annual billing. Roll Off
Roll Off services are available in all of Jefferson County and select parts of Oswego, Lewis and St. Lawrence Counties. Temporary containers include a two-week rental and additional charges may be applied for any usage after that two-week period. Please call when you want your temporary container removed as Thomas Trash will not automatically pick it up after two weeks. Allow one business day for any requested on-call services.
Debris cannot exceed the fill line on the rolloff container. Any overfilled containers will be left on site until the customer has removed the extra debris and will be subject to rental fees. Please ensure the gate is closed and secured prior to removal. Any damages caused by the truck or the container are the responsibility of the customer. All driveways must be clear of snow or debris prior to the arrival of the truck. If the driveway is not clear of all obstruction, Thomas Trash Service reserves the right to leave the location and reschedule the delivery/removal and charge a return trip fee. Roll Off and Residential Prohibited Items:
The New York State and Development Authority of the North Country prohibits the following items from being placed in our containers:
- Cardboard and/or other clean recyclables (metal, glass, etc.)*
- Electronics
- Appliances
- Tires
- Batteries
- Hazardous Materials (gasoline, kerosene, paint, chemicals, waste oils, etc.)
- Syringes and Needles must be placed in a sealed thick plastic container that cannot be punctured or penetrated (e.g. detergent bottles or sharps containers)
- Fluorescent Bulbs
- Yard Waste: Leaves, grass, brush, woodchips, lawn clippings, tree limbs, etc.
- Junked vehicles
- Large dead animals
- Septic tank pumpings
- Explosives
- Hot ashes
- Medical waste
*Residential customers may place washed, separated recyclables in bags or totes for pickup.
If any of the above items is placed in a container, Thomas Trash Service will not take that container until the prohibited items are removed. If prohibited items are discovered after the container has been picked up, Thomas Trash Service will return them to the site and/or charge an additional fee.
