Roll-off services are available in all of Jefferson County and select parts of Oswego, Lewis, and St. Lawrence Counties. Temporary containers include a two-week rental, additional charges may be applied for any usage after those two weeks. Please call when
you want your temporary container removed as Thomas Trash will NOT automatically pick it up after two weeks. Allow one business day for any requested on-call services.
- Debris cannot exceed the fill line on the roll-off container.
- Any overfilled containers will be left on site until the customer has removed the extra debris and will be subject to rental fees.
- Please ensure the gate is closed and secured before removal.
- Any damages caused by the truck or the container are the responsibility of the customer.
- Driveways must be completely cleared of snow, debris, or any obstructions before the truck arrives. If the driveway is not adequately cleared, Thomas Trash Service reserves the right to leave the location, reschedule the delivery or removal, and apply a return trip fee.
- If possible, please allow two or more weeks advance notice to reserve a container for your specified project start date.

12-Yard Roll-Off
12-yard roll-off containers are ideal for projects needing more capacity than front-load dumpsters. Perfect for small renovations, home cleanouts, or roofing projects, they can hold about 4-5 pickup truck loads of general waste, construction debris, and renovation materials, offering a convenient solution for your bulk disposal needs, still within a relatively small footprint.
20-Yard Roll-Off
A 20-yard roll-off container is an excellent choice for construction, small demolition projects, and general waste removal. With the capacity to hold 7–8 pickup truck loads, it’s perfect for cleaning out attics, basements, and garages, or tackling bathroom and kitchen remodels. These versatile containers are also suitable for cardboard and commingled recycling, making them a practical solution for a wide range of projects.
30-Yard Roll-Off
A 30-yard roll-off container is ideal for medium to large-scale projects like new home construction or whole-home cleanouts. Holding 12-14 pickup truck loads, they handle significant disposal needs. Perfect for construction and renovation debris, these containers are also suitable for cardboard and commingled recycling, offering a versatile solution for bigger jobs
40-Yard Roll-Off
40-yard roll-off containers, the largest available, are perfect for contractors tackling large-scale construction and demolition projects. Designed for maximum disposal capacity, they handle substantial waste volumes over extended periods. With space equivalent to about 16 pickup truck loads, these containers are ideal for heavy-duty disposal needs.
Prohibited Items:
The New York State and Development Authority of the North Country prohibits the following items from being placed in our containers:
- Cardboard and/or other clean recyclables (metal, glass, etc.)*
- Electronics
- Appliances
- Tires
- Batteries
- Hazardous Materials (gasoline, kerosene, paint, chemicals, waste oils, etc.)
- Syringes and Needles must be placed in a sealed thick plastic container that cannot be punctured or penetrated (e.g. detergent bottles or sharps containers)
- Fluorescent Bulbs
- Yard Waste: Leaves, grass, brush, woodchips, lawn clippings, tree limbs, etc.
- Junked vehicles
- Large dead animals
- Septic tank pumpings
- Explosives
- Hot ashes
- Medical waste
If any of the above items is placed in a container, Thomas Trash Service will not take that container until the prohibited items are removed. If prohibited items are discovered after the container has been picked up, Thomas Trash Service will return them to the site and/or charge an additional fee.
